Global Beauty Editor-at-Large at i-D, Marcelo Gutierrez is an internationally recognized and award-winning makeup artist. Born in Colombia and now based in New York City, Marcelo continues to explore his artistic practice, taking on the roles of makeup artist, creative director and consultant.

Marcelo’s work has been featured in publications including, Vogue US, Harper's Bazaar, D-Republica, DUST, i-D Magazine, Vogue Italia, Self Service, W Magazine, and campaigns including Louis Vuitton, Chanel, MAC, H&M, Marc Jacobs, Calvin Klein, Glossier and Bvlgari. He has worked with talents including Troye Sivan, Lily-Rose Depp, Bella Hadid, Paloma Elsesser, Rosalía, Lourdes Leon, Robyn, Charli xcx and Madonna.

In 2023, Marcelo won Best Artist of the Year at the Latin American Fashion Awards. In 2024 Marcelo released, Nothing Precious, marking his first publication as both creative director and makeup artist. Nothing Precious, a photographic exploration of his creative journey over the past decade in New York City, is a tribute to the collaborators and muses who have shaped Gutierrez’s work.

In 2026, KIKO Milano announced Marcelo’s appointment as Global Make-up Artistry Creative Director.
